Hardest Part of the Day

{Erin}   Well I would say during the night when I should be sleeping and I am awake is my least favorite time of the day/night. Recently in my pregnancy I have started to get really uncomfortable in bed and don’t sleep more than two-hour stretches. I have been plagued with leg cramps, frequent trips to the bathroom, and not being able to find the right position to sleep in. I am not alone because this little baby is a night owl and reminds me that he/she is with me by giving me some pushes and kicks throughout the night. I am trying to be appreciative of these moments as I know they are coming to an end and soon it will be over and our house will go from 2 to 3

{Kim}   The hardest part of my day is, with no hesitation, bedtime! As you may have read in my previous post, Kylee has been the worst to get to sleep! Bedtime often requires my husband or me to be in her room for nearly 2 hours before she falls asleep! Now, I don’t want to jinx myself here, but something magical happened this week. She is on day 3 of putting herself to sleep at both nap and bedtime! Yeah Kylee! I hope this keeps up!
Mealtime is so stressful, too. It’s the time right before we eat, when she sees me getting food out. Kylee gets so anxious to eat it is nearly impossible for me to complete a meal.  I usually end up giving her something to snack on at the table while I fix dinner!

{Camye}   Oh, cooking, how I used to enjoy you.  Once upon a time my husband and I would go to the grocery store for fun, casually walking up and down the aisles shopping for grownup food.  I enjoyed putting the groceries away and preparing for meals.  And cooking – it was a time I had to myself – so calm and peaceful.  Dinner was made whenever I felt like it.
Present day grocery shopping and cooking are anything but casual, thoughtful, and at my leisure.  Grocery shopping starts by bribing my kids with candy and ends with several unintentional purchases (one of which is usually a small box of goldfish – seriously, why do they put those right next to the register).  And cooking – Oy!  My husband gets the award for Chef of the Year.  If I even think about stepping into the kitchen I am guaranteed at least one kid pulling on my leg and the other pushing a chair to the counter.  There are many times when I force myself to use cooking as a learning experience and I let the kids (and kitchen) get dirty, I wash a million unnecessary dishes, and we spend much more time than was needed. Oooooor we just order pizza!  Grocery shopping and cooking can only get easier as my kids get older, right?
