Meet Our Makeup Bags

The state of our makeup bag must say something about the state of our lives.  Erin’s makeup is very neat and organized.  Camye’s is not.  Enough said!  Please share your favorite makeup with us!

{Erin}  I am a self-proclaimed product junkie!! If there is a makeup line I have tried it and I can tell you my opinion on it!! I finally feel like I have found the perfect combination of products to give me the look I want to achieve!
{1}  Bare Essentials check brush. I use this brush to apply the blush minerals after I have applied the all over face powder
{2}  I use Bare Essentials for my face. This is the foundation, bronzer, and blush. What I love about these products is that I don’t have to switch from season to season with a tan and a shade depending on my tan is how much I apply.
{3}  The best brush ever!! I use this brush for my foundation and bronzer and when I am complete I use again to sweep over my face to make sure that all minerals have absorbed and aren’t just sitting on my face.
{4}  Is a combination of a dual ended brush for eyeshadow. One end can be used to apply eyeshadow and the other can be used to apply eyeliner. I switch between a pencil eyeliner and a shadow eyeliner depending on the look I am going for.
{5}  EYESHADOW. I have used MAC eyeshadow for sometime now and love the colors. The combination of the three colors below are the last set of colors I picked up and I love them. There is the base color, the crease color, and the corner of the eye color.
{6}  ARBONNE MAKEUP PRIMER. I was never a believer in primer products until I tried this one on a whim. I was afraid they would make my face look oily and boy was I wrong. This product is like putting silk on my face and the best part  about it is that my makeup lasts so much longer when I wear this.

7}  Lip Liner. Yes I have always the full Jessica Simpson lips and I don’t have them naturally but I do think lip liner makes a difference when wearing lipstick or lipgloss. I typically use a neutral color but I love the way it make my lips look and I can tell a huge difference when I dont.
{8}  You really can’t live life without LIPGLOSS. If I could only wear one thing out of the house it would be lipgloss.
{9} Mascara. I typically use black and if  I could I wear false lashes everyday! Ok maybe not everyday but have you tried them? If not give it a shot!
{10} Foundation brush. This is a brush that I use to cover any blemishes and underneath my eye. I simply apply a small amount of the mineral product to the end of the brush and tap over the area and VIOLA!!!!

{Camye}  Rarely do I go out of the house without eyeliner and mascara.  I put it on even before I go to Stroller Strides (shoot, now my secret’s out)! I have a lot of Clinique and Mary Kay but I am dying to get a makeover to try different kinds!
{1}  Clinique Foundation.  I call this my “Fancy Nancy” makeup.  I bought it for my wedding… after I had been tanning for several months… definitely not the right color anymore!
{2}  Black Pencil Eyeliner.  I don’t wear this much because I feel like it leaves a line of skin between my eyelashes and eyeliner.  Does that even make sense?
{3}  Clinique Sweet Violet Lip Gloss.  Again, part of my “Fancy Nancy” makeup.  Love the natural looking shade it gives me.
{4}  Mary Kay Powder.  I put this on every. single. day.  I have always wanted to try the Bare Minerals powder though.
{5}  Eyeliner.  I don’t even want to tell you about this.  It’s sooooo old.  My college roommate gave it to me!  I love it because I can fill in that “skin line” that regular eyeliner gives me.
{6}  Clinique Eye Shadow in Cashew.  After watching the makeover part of What Not To Wear, I decided to try to fill in my eyebrows.  I use the darker color to fill and it seems natural.  If it doesn’t, let me know :)
{7}  Eyelash Curler.  I use this every day.  Actually I should say… I use this every time I put makeup on.  ::whispering:: I don’t wash my face every night which is convenient because then I don’t have to put on makeup the next day.  Just a little Q-tip action and I’m done. ::hanging head low::
{8}  Clinique Powder Brush.  When I bought this (totally not 5 years ago) the lady told me it was antimicrobial or something like that.  That’s my excuse in never buying a new one.  I did, however, question this theory when Carmindy said that makeup does need to be replaced and nothing should last forever.  I figure I have a few more years until I am considered for that show.
{9}  Mary Kay Concealer.  I inherited my grandma’s dark circles.  I gave them to Evie.  We will have to wear concealer forever.  I have yet to find one that actually hides my dark circles.
{10}  Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara.  This is my number 1.  The only makeup I own that I am actually happy with.  One coat acts like two coats.
{11}  Mary Kay Eye Shadows.  My sister-in-law gave me all my wedding makeup as a bridal shower gift!  Isn’t that a great idea?!  She also applied it for me, so I actually haven’t used it again because don’t know how to do a smoky eye right.  I always just accentuate my dark circles!

I love this post and after reading it realize HOW BAD I need a makeover!! My makeup is so old and cheap. I really should invest in new stuff. I did treat myself to some foundation from Ulta, that was fantastic, now if I could just update the rest. Part of my problem is (well I have 2) one that even at 30 years old, I really don’t know HOW to put on makeup, embarrassing, right? And 2, I don’t have time for a full makeup routine, so usually I’m lucky if I get foundation and mascara on.

I have never been a big make up wearer (like the whole nine yards of foundation and everything) but I have simple routine that works for me at the moment with 2 kids… I use an exfoliator everyday so my skin is as healthy looking as possible. I recently discovered (I think I was late in the game on this one) Nars Orgasm blush (Sephora @ JCPenney). Besides the *fun* name, it is a beautiful color!! My favorite ever and perfect for everyday or dressing up. I use Clinique loose powder so I’m not all shiny, mascara, and I’m off! Takes me all of 5 minutes and I think I look presentable enough. :) I have to include that recently I started using Moroccan Oil for my hair and it makes my hair super soft and shiny, and look like I did some sort of styling to it even when I just let it air dry, which is awesome because I have super fine hair and not much of it (especially since I had my last baby). Fun topic! :)
