The City of Davenport needs YOUR help! Davenport is in a contest to become a Blue Zone. If Davenport wins, the entire Quad Cities wins because Davenport is going to use the benefits of the Blue Zone for all the surrounding cities!
Blue Zones are geographically defined areas around the world where people live longer, better, and reach the age of 100 at rates 10 times greater than in the United States.
I’m very excited about the potential outcome this could have on our community! If Davenport wins, we’ll get state and possibly national exposure showcasing the health of our community. Consultants and resources will be provided to improve the health of the Quad Cities. We’ll all have the opportunity to live longer and healthier lives. We’ll be taught powerful habits adopted from the world’s longest-living people. It’s as easy as small, simple, enjoyable changes like joining a walking group or growing a garden. The Quad Cities will be a better place to live, work, and play in a number of ways. Isn’t that what we want for our children’s future?
