Are you pinning like crazy? Have you started to stock pile supplies for projects? Does your family think your are addicted? If you answered yes to these questions than you are like the millions that are pinning away on Pinterest the virtual pinboard for images that are online.
Recently we did a segment on Paula Sands Live where we highlighted the many projects from Pinterest. There are so many different types that include DIY gifts, home organization, recipes, workouts, and decor ideas the possibilities are endless. Quad City Moms Blog gathered recently to host our own Pinning Party and what fun we had.
Here are a few of the projects at the party:
What a cute way to add some color and personalization to a playroom. This is a piece of cardstock with an initial traced on and filled with colored buttons! Thanks to Heather Stocking for this creative project!
Who doesn’t love to gift a cute accessory or buy these for your own darling? Did you know they are simple to make as well? Jackie Peterson hand rolled these rosettes and attached them to a piece of elastic!
Need toy storage? Sara Meehan is expecting her third bundle of joy so she discovered this easy way to create a toy storage box by covering a box with different colored fabrics. Easy and versatile!
Hair bows you just cant get enough of these cute little things! Ever wonder how that mom at the playground has the perfect one to match every outfit? Chances are she makes them herself! Camye Halvorson is the pro at making these and demonstrated to us how easy and quick you can whip these up!
As moms we spend countless hours in our laundry rooms so why not have them look fabulous! Marie Feehan created this simple and chic wall hanging by taking a wooden plaque and covering the middle part with scrapbook paper and then attaching the black lettering and mini clothes pins!
Interested in hosting your very own Pinning Party? Here are a few tips:
-Ask your guests in advance, at least a month ahead of time. This will allow your guest to decide on a project they want to create and gather the supplies that they need!
-Suggest that everyone bring an appetizer to the party from Pinterest. There are so many delicious recipes that people pin and then if other guest like the recipe they can get online and pin it with the ingredients included.
-Have some supplies on hand like tape, hot glue sticks, and scissors this will make the night perfect in case someone forgot something.
Happy Pinning!
