I have not been paid to write about QC Cupcakes- wait, maybe I should be more clear… I haven’t been paid money to write this post, but I’d gladly work for good food any day!
Quad City Moms Blog has been working with QC Cupcakes for about 2 months now. Angie and Jessica have generously been donating cupcakes for our Channel 8 segments. See, the only problem here is- I wasn’t getting to eat them! Did you hear Jason mention “when we don’t have them (QCMB) here in studio the big drawback is no samples!” He’s referring to the QC Cupcakes! We’ve been leaving the cupcakes at the studio for the news crew to try and obviously they are a hit!
It was to my delight when Angie said she had a dozen cupcakes for me to finally eat! I rushed over to pick them up and dug right in (after taking the pictures of course)! The cupcake sampling included 3 Maple Bacon, 3 Cookies and Cream, 3 Cookie Dough, and 3 Tye Dye. Let me go into the mouth watering details about each… as if the pictures don’t speak for themselves!
Maple Bacon… I’ll admit- I was skeptical. I made my husband take the first bite… and then the words “pancakes and bacon” came out of his mouth (which was full of cupcake). I immediately grabbed a cupcake and took a bite. Then, all I could do was nod my head with my eyes closed. It tasted like breakfast- and breakfast is my favorite food of all time- specifically pancakes and bacon!
After discussing with my husband how crazy good the cupcake was, I quickly moved on to the Cookies and Cream. If I had to use one word to describe this cupcake it would be “perfect”. THE FROSTING! The frosting was AMAZING! I am the kind of person that usually pushes the frosting off before eating the cake, but not this time. I couldn’t get enough of the frosting! It was so flavorful and smooth. Probably the BEST frosting I’ve ever tasted! Not to belittle the cupcake, because the cupcake was moist and full of flavor. Perfect combination.
Don’t judge me for eating another cupcake because I did! I couldn’t walk away without trying all of them! The Cookie Dough cupcake was up next and without hesitation I started in. Again with the frosting, it was literally perfect. The cupcake complimented it with chunks of cookie dough mixed in. This one was my daughter’s favorite. She said she’d help me write the review if I let her have a bite. I did get one more bite in before giving it to her! Her exact words, “this girl makes the best cupcakes, Mommy!” Yes, Evie, yes they do!
I was feeling the effects of eating 2½ cupcakes but I wasn’t going to let this stop me. The Tye Dye cupcakes lived up to all my expectations. Moist, smooth, and tasty. I felt like a child as I bit into it to see what the inside looked like! It was pretty cool, let me tell ya! You’ll have to get one (or two) of your own to see for yourself!
Are you craving one yet?!

As a lucky recipient of those News 8 segment samples, I agree with you wholeheartedly about the wonderfulness of these cupcake concoctions.
My mouth was watering just reading this post… Sounds amazing, and they are so beautiful!
I think I “need” to try these!
