freezing time

While at Walmart, all alone, late one Saturday night, I found myself standing in the children’s book section.  I am sucker for books, especially children’s books and love to see what is new on the shelves.  I came across a book called “If I could keep you little…” by Marianne Richmond.  As I held the [...]

beautiful…who me?

A bump on my nose, acne at 32, wrinkles at my brow and crow’s feet near my eyes.  The list could go on and on about things I would change about myself if I could.  I have thought most of these things for years, but more have been added to the list as I continue [...]

getting physical (and not in the way you think)

I tend to consider my husband and I pretty healthy people.  Of course, we collect a sinus infection or two during the year, a massive headache every once in a while and joint pain here or there.  Besides those minor ailments and the PCOS (infertility) I suffer from, I think we are pretty healthy.  My [...]

sunday family fun day

Between dance class, Bible Study, grad school, birthday parties, errands, grocery shopping and work our week can seem beyond busy.  If I’m being honest, there have been weeks that have gone by that we haven’t eaten a homemade dinner together at the table and quality time with the family has been more than limited.  A [...]

i’m suffering from mommy-comparisonitis

I am suffering from a common condition called Mommy-Comparisonitis. naptime diy

Naptime has usually been spent cleaning, doing grad school work or catching a few zzz’s myself, but I do have to admit I love completing a big “project” during nap time as well.  I have always enjoyed setting up electronics, building and assembling things.  I am the one that built Mia’s entire IKEA bed by [...]

taking the plunge

For years I have been pondering a decision that I wasn’t sure was possible.  I have gone back and forth thinking of all the reasons I couldn’t, shouldn’t and wouldn’t go through with it.  And then 3 months ago, we decided to make the leap of faith and jump in with both feet.  In October, [...]

piles and piles of art

I love art! I love the art my kids make!  However, the piles and piles of artwork spread across my dining room table I do NOT love.  Mia is in preschool and Roman is in a Parent’s Day Out program. Every day, we open their backpacks and take out the piles and piles of art [...]

it’s the most wonderful time of the year…

This weekend we spent cleaning out the playroom.   An entire room dedicated to toys, trains, dolls and books.  This doesn’t include the toys that are in the kids bedrooms and the even more that are stored in the basement to bring out at a later date. Are we started going through the toys I took [...]

Table talk

Growing up dinner was rarely eaten at the dinner table. It was usually on the go, or in front of the TV.   I always imagined that when I had kids we would sit around the dinner table chatting, laughing and enjoying a wonderful home cooked meal. Well, that sounds wonderful, but that’s not the way [...]
